Schnabel Engineering is hiring an Engineering/Scientific Technician in its Columbia, South Carolina office. The role supports construction observation, material testing, environmental sampling and instrumentation, geotechnical soil-boring layouts, and soils and concrete laboratory testing. Candidates should have a high school degree, a valid United States driver’s license, strong communication and organizational skills, basic mathematical ability, attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors and perform occasional lifting of 50–75 pounds. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant science field and prior construction or engineering internship experience are preferred. The position offers $18–$28 per hour, consistent working hours, overtime pay, and benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and professional development.
