Description
BackBase is hiring an Engineering Team Lead (Backend Java) to lead a squad of 6–9 engineers in a player-coach role. The position is roughly 70% technical leadership, including system design, architecture, code reviews, production debugging, CI/CD, observability, release management, and AI tooling adoption; 10% people leadership, including coaching, hiring, succession, and team health; and 20% delivery and stakeholder execution. Candidates need at least five years of hands-on software engineering experience, strong system-design and architecture knowledge, modern engineering practices, and experience coaching engineers and managing delivery risk.
