The Engineering Technician I performs civil engineering and surveying duties for a county highway department, including preliminary and construction surveys, CADD and GIS work, bridge and plant inspections, laboratory testing, construction reporting, plan proofing, project coordination, and supervision of construction crews and part-time help. The role works under the general supervision of a professional engineer and requires an associate degree in civil engineering or equivalent education and experience, along with three years of road construction and maintenance experience.
