Description
The Construction Materials Testing Technician performs field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. The role involves transporting samples, preparing and submitting reports, communicating results to project and engineering personnel, maintaining equipment and work areas, and following safety procedures. The position is intended for an entry-level technician working under supervision, with a progression toward greater responsibility and training. A high school diploma or equivalent, six months of experience, and a valid driver’s license are required, while ACI certification and related safety certifications must be obtained within specified timeframes.
