UKCEH is hiring a permanent Mechanical / Electro-Mechanical Workshop Technician to develop, maintain, and support research facilities and equipment at its Wallingford head office. The role involves interpreting technical drawings, producing precision-machined components, building and testing electro-mechanical assemblies, operating CNC and manual workshop machinery, wiring and installing equipment, servicing and maintaining systems, supporting procurement and workshop records, and assisting with remote field-site deployments. Candidates should have a relevant technical qualification or equivalent experience, practical machine-shop experience, knowledge of materials and engineering tolerances, electro-mechanical assembly and fault-finding skills, a UK manual driving licence, and willingness to travel across the United Kingdom.
