Description
The LSS Center for New Americans is hiring an ESL Instructor to teach English as a Second Language, vocational English, and/or citizenship instruction to refugee and immigrant adults. The role is on-call with teaching opportunities typically between 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., with possible weekend work. Responsibilities include maintaining class attendance, using provided plans and materials, preparing lesson plans for substitute assignments, and communicating with supervisors and regular instructors. Applicants need a bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field plus one year of teaching experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; TESOL certification or a master’s degree is preferred.
