The Diesel Shop Associate provides general, non-diagnostic mechanical assistance to diesel technicians in Sterling, Illinois. The role handles routine truck and trailer maintenance, assists with tractor and trailer repairs, replaces common components, performs shop cleaning, creates and tracks work orders, maintains parts inventory, and uses forklifts and company vehicles to move parts. The position requires an associate degree in diesel technology or a related field, a valid driver's license meeting Schneider's DMV record standards, computer systems experience, and the ability to provide own tools within 30 days of hire. Starting wages are $18.60 to $23.30 per hour based on experience, with medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, and other benefits.
