Description

The Environmental Aide/Associate/Cleaner plays an essential role in cleaning and infection prevention in our hospitals and a positive patient experience to those we serve in our community. This position involves performing routine cleaning tasks, handling waste, and potentially operating motorized cleaning equipment. The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols, all contributing to maintaining a clean and safe healthcare environment.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Completion of high school, or combination of education and training deemed equivalent.
Required Previous Experiences: Experience in a similar or relevant role, an asset.
Preferred Qualifications: Ability to meet the physical demands of the job including: standing, sweeping, pushing/pulling carts, walking on uneven surfaces, reaching forward, reaching above and below the shoulders, ability to lift up to 20 kg.
Ability to read, write and speak English fluently to understand verbal work orders, instructions and material such as short notes, brief forms etc.
Ability to do simple mathematical calculations (e.g. adding, subtracting, etc.)
Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance with UHN standards.
