Description

HDR is seeking an Environmental Area Operations Manager to lead their Environmental Conservation and Compliance and Environmental Restoration businesses for Federal clients. The manager will oversee a team of over 75 professionals globally, developing and implementing strategies for expanding environmental compliance, permitting, and planning services. Responsibilities include overseeing complex environmental programs, managing multidisciplinary teams, fostering business development, and providing technical and operational support. The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 10 years experience in development and management of diverse teams
15 years’ experience and a deep understanding of Environmental Compliance and Planning, NEPA, Marine Sciences, environmental remediation and project management
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related field
CHMM, REM, CESCO, REP, etc.
Professional Engineering (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) license, OSHA HAZWOPER certification
Experience managing large compliance projects in the United States and on DoD installations
Experience managing CERCLA and RCRA remediation projects
Ability to interact and collaborate with various investigation and design teams
Proficiency with MS Office and other software tools, including Esri products
Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational and project management skills
