Description
The Municipality of Anchorage is hiring an Environmental Sanitarian for its Health Department at 825 L Street, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role reviews permit applications and plans, approves permits, inspects food-service and other facilities for sanitation and environmental-health compliance, collects water samples, investigates complaints and foodborne illness outbreaks, issues citations, and conducts training. Applicants must meet one of three education-and-experience pathways, hold an Alaska driver's license, obtain designated peace officer, aquatic facility, FDA food safety, and pesticide applicator certifications, and pass a background check. Remote work may be considered after successful probation.
