Description
The Equipment Mechanic independently diagnoses and performs mechanical and electrical repairs on light and heavy County vehicles, trucks, construction equipment, and other fleet assets in the shop and in the field. The role includes engine, transmission, axle, brake, suspension, electrical, fuel, heating and air-conditioning, and preventative-maintenance work, as well as field service, training, work orders, parts procurement, and vendor coordination. Applicants need a high school diploma or GED, four years of full-time paid experience repairing engines on vehicles or heavy equipment, a valid California Class C driver’s license, and ASE or CDL qualifications are preferred.
