Description
The Equipment Operator CDL performs semi-skilled work operating hauling, construction, and maintenance equipment such as boom trucks, street sweepers, street patching machines, dump trucks, and tractors to maintain city roads, rights of ways, and city properties. The role also includes fueling vehicles, performing light mechanical adjustments, assisting with equipment repairs, distributing asphalt, loading and unloading trucks, and performing manual road-repair tasks. The position reports to the Assistant Director of Streets and requires a high school diploma or GED, two years of related equipment-operation experience, a valid Louisiana driver's license, and the ability to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License within six months.
