Description
The Alachua County Department of Public Works is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely and efficiently operate a wide range of construction and transportation equipment, including graders, bulldozers, dump trucks, excavators, loaders, and mowers. The role also includes minor equipment repairs, pre-operation checks, routine preventative maintenance, manual labor, and work under the direction of a higher-level supervisor. Applicants must have eighth-grade completion, one year of equipment-operation experience or equivalent training, a Florida Class B commercial driver's license with air brakes, a clean motor vehicle record, and successful drug, physical, and background checks.
