Description
The role operates heavy and light equipment at County landfills under the supervision of an Operator Foreman, including distributing and compacting refuse, grading slopes, maintaining drainage and access roads, directing waste, and performing light maintenance. It also provides training and leadership to lower-level equipment operators, spotters, and gate attendants, maintains vehicles and equipment, completes operational logs, and follows safety and regulatory requirements. The position requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent and one to two years of public works maintenance or heavy equipment operation experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
