Description
The Municipality of Anchorage is hiring a Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic to service and maintain vehicles and equipment, including oil changes, fluid checks, lubrication, battery checks, tire work, and shop cleanup. The role is based at 4551 Fairbanks Street and operates Monday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States, have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, and either complete an approved journeyman mechanic apprenticeship or have one year of relevant automotive, construction-equipment, transit-bus, or truck maintenance and repair experience. A background check, valid Alaska driver's license, and satisfactory driving record are required; the municipality does not provide visa sponsorship.
