Description
The Transformer Engineering Specialist provides engineering support and technical expertise for transformer assets across Southern Company’s generation facilities. The role develops and maintains transformer specifications, reviews vendor documentation, witnesses factory inspections and acceptance testing, supports field and factory repairs, leads failure investigations, manages spare parts and inventory, and contributes to reliability and fleet initiatives. It is a hybrid field and office position with approximately 25% travel, available from Birmingham, Alabama or Forest Park, Georgia, and requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
