Description
The Municipality of Anchorage is hiring a Bus Mechanic for its Public Transportation Department at 3701 Dr MLK Jr Avenue. The role performs inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and repairs on commercial and light-duty vehicles, including buses, with responsibilities covering power-train, electronic controls, heating and ventilation, fare boxes, hydraulic, braking, suspension, and major or minor overhauls. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of an approved journeyman mechanic apprenticeship, and either four years of relevant maintenance and repair experience with an apprenticeship or five years of relevant experience. Applicants must obtain a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with a Passenger endorsement and no air-brake restriction, pass background and drug screenings, and maintain required certifications and licenses.
