Microsoft is hiring an experienced ESE Software Engineer to lead architectural innovation, performance engineering, and technology evaluation for its Extensible Storage Engine. The role focuses on improving scalability, reliability, storage efficiency, write amplification, endurance, and capacity utilization while investigating emerging storage media and integrating concepts from open-source storage engines. The engineer will prototype and benchmark storage architectures, partner with product teams, and serve as a technical leader across multiple services.
