Description
The Estimator analyzes complex blueprints, drawings, and selections sheets to develop materials lists and cost estimates for construction jobs. The role uses estimating software to calculate linear and square footage, determines material availability and substitutions, maintains pricing data, prepares bids and cost-effectiveness estimates, and advises clients, vendors, and contractors. It also provides guidance to less experienced estimators. The position requires prior building-construction experience, an associate degree in construction technology is preferred, and experience with Windows, Microsoft Office, and estimating software.
