Applied Materials is hiring a full-time Field Service Engineer [Customer Engineer] in Kitakami, Japan. The role serves as a customer liaison and supports the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades of semiconductor and display equipment. Responsibilities include using digital analytics, applying basic diagnostic techniques, performing preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems, and coordinating with customers. The position requires an associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification, along with mechanical aptitude, basic electrical and mechanical schematic knowledge, communication skills, and a valid driver’s license. Travel is required 10% of the time, and the role involves clean-room work and physical demands including lifting up to 35 pounds.
