Description

The Charlotte Lab School is seeking an experienced, full-time Exceptional Children’s Lab Extensions Teacher for the 2023-2024 school year, with a start date of August 11, 2025. This role primarily involves working with students on the autism spectrum in a self-contained classroom, focusing on creating and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), delivering specialized and data-driven instruction, and collaborating with families and staff. The teacher will also advise a small group of students, delivering social-emotional skills curriculum and fostering strong relationships. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree, be willing to obtain North Carolina K-12 teacher licensure, and demonstrate experience or passion for teaching diverse populations. Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree from a four year institution
Required Previous Experiences: At least 2 years of full-time teaching experience
Experience teaching relevant Elementary School Content Area
Experience in, or passion for, teaching diverse populations
Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree in a related field
Comfort with technology and experience with Google Suite
Strong classroom management skills
Exceptionally organized and have ability to prioritize effectively and meet competing deadlines
Experience with standards based grading
Dual-certification to teach Elementary School students and Exceptional Children, Academically Gifted students, or English as a Second Language
