Perle is hiring expert Swahili transcribers to convert audio recordings of native speakers into accurate, time-aligned written transcripts for speech recognition, dialogue, and evaluation systems. The role requires native Swahili fluency, mastery of standard orthography, knowledge of regional varieties, ability to handle Swahili-English code-switching including Sheng, and at least two years of professional transcription, captioning, court reporting, broadcast, translation, or linguistic annotation experience. Transcribers will apply speaker-identification, disfluency, orthographic, and quality-control conventions, self-review submissions, and collaborate with QA reviewers. The position offers paid pilot tasks, per-task or per-minute compensation, flexible scheduling, and the possibility of additional related projects.
