Mississippi State University’s Coastal Research and Extension Center is seeking an Extension Program Assistant to support routine and specialized Extension and research activities for the Marine Fisheries Ecology Program. The role includes preparing gear and conducting fishery-independent monitoring, processing laboratory samples, and assisting with outreach and education events. Applicants need a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and strong organizational, communication, and Microsoft Office skills; coastal fisheries, environmental education, and fishery-independent sampling experience are preferred. The position requires substantial boat work, flexible scheduling, and heavy physical activity, and is contingent on continued funding.
