Description
The Extrusion Operator sets up, runs, and continuously monitors a 1½-inch extrusion line used to manufacture fiber-optic cable. The role reads setup sheets, adjusts machines, inspects products, applies print, completes documentation, cleans equipment, identifies defects, and follows safety procedures. It requires a high school diploma or GED, mechanical aptitude, tool and measuring-device skills, basic math and handwriting ability, teamwork, and attention to detail. The position works 33 hours per week on a Friday–Sunday 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. schedule with some flexibility, overtime availability, and full-time benefits; night and weekend shifts receive a 10% shift differential.
