Description

The CNI & EO/IR Chief Engineer serves as the technical liaison for the F‑35 Chief Engineer’s Office, providing cross-disciplinary leadership for Communications, Navigation, and Identification and Electro-Optical/Infrared systems. The role advises engineering leadership on system architecture, requirements, integration, performance, schedules, and risks; leads key engineering reviews and technical readiness activities; and oversees the development, integration, verification, validation, qualification, certification, and sustainment of CNI and EO/IR capabilities across the F‑35 Air System acquisition lifecycle.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
Required Previous Experiences: Demonstrated expertise in CNI and/or EOIR
Experience with requirements management, design reviews, and verification/validation processes
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline
Extensive experience with military aircraft CNI and/or EOIR modernization programs
Familiarity with airworthiness certification processes and defense acquisition environments
Experience leading complex aerospace or weapon system development programs
Prior Chief Engineer, IPT Lead, or Technical Director experience on large-scale aerospace programs
