Description
The Fabricator / Training Aids Technician designs, fabricates, maintains, transports, and refurbishes aircraft training aids and instructional equipment for an aviation maintenance training program. The role also supports aircraft acquisition by retrieving, transporting, preparing, and evaluating aircraft and components, while maintaining training facilities, equipment, safety compliance, and organized inventories. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, at least three years of fabrication, maintenance, or related technical experience, proficiency with hand and power tools, experience with metal fabrication or welding, a valid driver's license, and the ability to tow trailers and lift up to 75 pounds. Preferred qualifications include FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification, aviation maintenance experience, aircraft salvage experience, welding credentials, forklift certification, and Class A CDL with a DOT Medical Card. The work is primarily performed in aircraft hangars, laboratories, fabrication shops, warehouses, and outdoor environments, with regular overnight travel and up to 50% travel required.
