Description
The Facilities Maintenance Technician supports Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens’ on-site maintenance team for POP Management’s affordable-housing buildings. The role performs mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and structural maintenance; establishes and schedules preventative maintenance; inspects building systems; responds to 24-hour emergencies; trains and supervises maintenance staff; coordinates with field staff, central office, and vendors; and provides coverage for other facilities. The position requires FDNY fire-safety and emergency-action-plan certificates, basic tool and machinery operation, crisis de-escalation, flexible evening, weekend, and holiday availability, travel within the five boroughs, and the ability to lift up to 60 pounds. A bachelor’s degree is preferred but may be waived with five years of demonstrated experience; bilingual ability is preferred.
