Description

OCTA is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to join their Facilities Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across various agency facilities. This role involves ensuring safe and compliant operations, performing installations and repairs, troubleshooting complex issues, and adhering to safety standards. The technician will also contribute to special facility projects and guide junior technicians.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited HVAC technician training program.
Required Previous Experiences: Three years of experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with commercial HVAC systems, automated controls, and multi-zone systems.
Knowledge of Cal/OSHA safety requirements, HAZMAT procedures, and electrical systems up to 480 VAC.
Ability to read engineering drawings, diagnose complex issues, and work independently.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
Ability to lift and move equipment, work on ladders, rooftops, and in confined spaces.
Ability to operate forklifts, man-lifts, and travel between facilities.
