Old Dominion University is hiring tenured Associate or Full Professor(s) in accelerator science for its Applications of Physics, Data Science, and/or Engineering to Particle Accelerators cluster hire. The role involves externally funded interdisciplinary research using AI, machine learning, engineering, and physics to advance accelerator design, performance optimization, large-scale simulations, and control; teaching undergraduate and graduate courses; advising graduate students; and serving the department and university. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in a relevant field, accelerator-science expertise, experience teaching or mentoring, a record of externally funded research, and academic records meriting a tenured appointment. The position is full-time in Norfolk, Virginia, with an application review deadline of 12/31/2026 and positions remaining open until filled.
