Description
The Youth ACT Family Advocate provides advocacy, psychoeducation, coping-strategy training, family support, and service coordination for children and youth ages 10 through 21 with serious behavioral health needs. The role works with families, caregivers, providers, and a multidisciplinary team across home, community, and office settings, including travel throughout Queens, Staten Island, the Bronx, and occasionally New York City. It requires a high school diploma or equivalent, advocacy specialty credentialing, lived experience with parenting a child or adolescent with a serious emotional disturbance or mental health challenges, and experience advocating in mental health or education; bilingual Spanish is preferred, and electronic health records and Microsoft Office experience are required.
