Description
The Family Support Provider uses lived experience with a child who has a behavioral or emotional disorder to support parents and caregivers. Responsibilities include coaching families, helping them build relationships with service providers, connecting them with community resources, providing emotional support, assisting with treatment-team meetings, collaborating on individualized family-centered service plans, and submitting timely documentation. The role requires a high school or GED, personal experience with a child affected by a behavioral or emotional disorder, completion of specified Relias and DBH training and certification within six months of hire, a valid driver's license, and agency-established minimum automobile coverage.
