Description

Ford is hiring a Feature Systems Engineer to architect and develop vehicle features from concept through production, combining systems and software engineering. The role covers network, wiring, power distribution, specifications, DFMEA, functional safety, cybersecurity, Model-Based Systems Engineering, SiL testing, BDD/Gherkin test automation, and quality improvement. Candidates need a relevant bachelor's degree, at least three years of systems or software engineering experience, and expertise in automotive electrical systems, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, and BDD test automation. Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Required Previous Experiences: At least 3 years of experience in Systems Engineering and/or Software Engineering, preferably in automotive.
At least 3 years of experience with vehicle electrical systems and features, including electrical module design, networking, wiring, power distribution, body/chassis systems, and CAN or Ethernet protocols.
At least 3 years of cross-functional collaboration resolving software and CAN communication issues, including Agile teamwork and communication with non-technical stakeholders.
At least 3 years of advanced MATLAB/Simulink proficiency and strong Python coding skills for scripting and test automation.
At least 2 years of experience with BDD/Gherkin testing frameworks and test automation workflows.
At least 3 years of experience with the systems engineering V-model, DFMEA, quality documentation, and specification or requirements writing.
At least 3 years of experience training others in simulation and robustness tools and identifying system gaps using data-driven approaches.
At least 3 years of strong systems thinking and analytical skills, with excellent written and verbal communication and resilience under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in a relevant engineering field and at least 5 years of automotive engineering experience.
At least 3 years of Seat experience in automotive engineering.
Hands-on experience developing, implementing, and supporting software applications through the full lifecycle.
Electrical design and reliability testing experience.
Familiarity with functional safety and cybersecurity methodologies.
Experience with Ford internal tools and embedded software principles.
Version control experience with Git or GitHub.
