Description
The Fiber Optic Construction Inspector oversees the quality, safety, and compliance of fiber optic installation and construction activities. Responsibilities include monitoring trenching, aerial and underground installation, splicing, testing, and restoration; verifying work against engineering drawings and specifications; inspecting cable, labeling, splice closures, handholes, and cabinets; reviewing OTDR and power-meter test results; coordinating corrective actions; conducting safety audits; and maintaining inspection logs and project documentation. The role requires a bachelor's degree or at least two years of related experience, blueprint-reading ability, knowledge of fiber optic systems and safety practices, an active driver's license, and the ability to travel to construction sites daily.
