Description
The Fiber Optic Process Technician supports R&D engineers and the R&D Lab Manager by setting up and running prototype builds, process trials, tooling evaluations, automation activities, and inside-plant connector termination. The role operates fiber optic termination and splicing equipment, prepares and documents samples, troubleshoots process issues, collects process data, supports fixture and equipment changeovers, and helps improve lab documentation and practices. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, while related technical education and 2+ years of manufacturing, process support, technical lab, automation, assembly, or engineering technician experience are preferred; fiber termination, splicing, or test experience is highly valued. The position is hybrid in an office schedule and may require travel to AFL development labs, manufacturing sites, suppliers, or partners.
