Google is hiring a Field Application Engineer Manager (Hardware Engineer) to lead an on-site, external-facing team supporting customers’ AI/ML infrastructure. The role involves on-call incident response, customer troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, tool development, product improvement, and technical leadership. Candidates need a relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, extensive Linux/Unix and hardware/software debugging experience, technical leadership experience, infrastructure and AI/ML hardware debugging experience, and familiarity with distributed systems, ML frameworks, and containerization technologies. The position offers a USD 236,000–329,000 base salary plus a 25% bonus target, equity, and benefits, with work locations in Austin, Texas, and Kirkland, Washington.
