Description
Sungrow North America is hiring a Transformer Service Tech for a contract role based out of Houston, Texas. The position directs and works with engineering and field-service crews on pad-mount oil-immersed transformer installations, repairs, testing, maintenance, inspections, swaps, and retrofits. Responsibilities include troubleshooting transformers, performing electrical and oil-related tests, maintaining equipment, preparing reports, and supporting customer relationships. The role requires outdoor work in all weather, 75% travel, flexible hours, overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays, and nights. A high school diploma or GED, at least two years of experience with liquid-filled or dry-type transformers, transformer repair or solar/battery energy storage experience, welding experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to travel 75% are required or preferred. Compensation is commensurate with experience, with California, Colorado, New York, and Washington candidates listed at $36–$40 per hour plus overtime.
