Field Specialist – Controls at Baker Hughes

Description

Baker Hughes is seeking a passionate Field Specialist – Controls to lead and execute technical solutions for onsite installation, operational maintenance, testing, and startup activities of Gas turbines, Steam Turbines, Compressors, and Generator controls & instrumentation systems. The role involves ensuring safety, timely delivery, quality, and cost-effectiveness, while fostering positive customer relationships and driving continuous improvement. This position supports cutting-edge energy projects primarily within Mexico and other Latin American countries.

Required Skills

Engineering/technical training in instrumentation, electrical, automation, electronics, computing, or control and automation.
Professional experience in TMS equipment.
Professional experience in Baker Hughes equipment.
Ability to work under pressure, clear thinking, decisiveness, and teamwork.
Knowledge of turbine generator and compressor equipment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
Excellent listening, project management, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Experience in project management.
Ability to effectively engage with customers at various levels.
Ability to direct skilled craft labor, manage costs, update schedules, and communicate effectively as a site manager.
Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ability to learn specific BH applications, and familiarity with Project Management software like Primavera or Microsoft Project.
Field Engineering experience.
Fluency in written and spoken English, or at least intermediate knowledge.
Knowledge of MKVIe, RX3i, or Woodward Control panels.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Engineering or technical level training in instrumentation, electrical, automation, electronics, computing, or control and automation.
Required Previous Experiences: Professional experience in TMS equipment.
Professional experience in Baker Hughes equipment, attested by a company that has executed scope in equipment covering site operation, commissioning, and startup.
Project management experience, or the ability to act as the primary contact and coordinator for BH with customers during outages and non-outages.
Field Engineering experience.
