The City of Arcata is hiring a Finance Director to lead the Finance Department under the City Manager. The role oversees financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, treasury, debt administration, revenue management, utility billing, financial software, audits, financial analysis, and long-range planning, while supervising and developing department staff. Applicants need a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least seven years of progressively responsible financial management and accounting experience, including three years of supervisory and budgetary experience; public-sector finance knowledge and a CPA or master’s degree are desirable.
