The Self-Pay Accounts Receivable Specialist manages patient self-pay collections by collecting owed monies, arranging payments, processing free-care and reduced-care applications, contacting private-pay patients, maintaining account aging, identifying delinquent accounts, and referring accounts to billing or collection agencies. The role requires a high school diploma, college degree, or three years of appropriate work experience, familiarity with collection statutes and regulations, independent work ability, and helpful information technology experience.
