Description
The NDI Inspector inspects and audits parts, assemblies, and materials for defects in finishes, coatings, and manufacturing processes using visual examination, special inspection instruments, gages, and non-destructive testing methods such as Nital Etch, Liquid Penetrant Inspection, and Magnetic Particle Inspection. The role also performs process checks, calibrates NDI equipment, maintains inspection records, prepares reports, and makes preliminary or final disposition decisions. It requires three years of related inspection experience, including finishes, coatings, and processes, plus three years of experience as a certified Level II Liquid Penetrant Inspector and Magnetic Particle Inspector under NAS 410 or equivalent, with recertification requirements.
