Description

The Fire Chief will provide complete administrative and technical direction of a fire prevention and protection program, develop firefighting and fire prevention plans and standards, manage personnel, and oversee installation-specific training programs. The role requires one year of specialized experience, including leadership of a large complex organization, management of geographically dispersed fire stations, aircraft rescue firefighting, and management of personnel and equipment budgets. It also requires DoD or reciprocal Fire Officer IV, Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor II, HAZMAT Incident Commander, and Airport Firefighter certifications, a valid state driver's license, occasional TDY travel, and eligibility for a Secret security clearance or equivalent access.
