Description
The Fire Prevention Inspector conducts fire and life-safety inspections of residential, business, institutional, commercial, and public buildings; investigates complaints and code violations; enforces fire codes; inspects fire-protection systems; issues permits and citations; provides public education; and maintains inspection records. The role requires high school coursework or equivalent, English and mathematics skills, a valid Utah driver’s license, and the ability to obtain ICC Fire Inspector I and II certifications. It pays $31.72–$35.09 per hour, offers health, dental, vision, and life insurance, and requires a 4 x 10-hour-shift schedule.
