Description
The Fire Marshal’s Office Permit Technician serves as the first point of contact for fire permits and related activities, providing customer service, reviewing permit applications, coordinating inspections and approvals, issuing permits, processing fees, preparing certificates, and supporting administrative and code-related work. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, one year of relevant public-contact experience or an associate’s degree, knowledge of fire and building codes, proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, a valid Class C Texas driving license, and ICC Permit Technician certification or certification within one year of hire. The position is full-time and pays $21.26–$26.63 per hour.
