Description
The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is hiring a full-time Firearms Identification Analyst to examine, test-fire, compare, and analyze firearms and related evidence; conduct NIBIN correlation reviews; issue examination reports; provide expert testimony; and assist law enforcement and attorneys. The role requires a bachelor's degree in forensic science, chemistry, or a related natural science, completion of a statistics course, AFTE- or NFEA-equivalent training, Texas Forensic Science Commission licensure, and the ability to safely test-fire firearms. The position is based in Houston and reports to the Director, Firearms Identification.
