Description
The position is a county firefighter role responsible for responding to and managing fires, medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, vehicle accidents, natural disasters, and other emergency situations. Duties include fire suppression, search and rescue, victim extrication, first aid and medical treatment, emergency equipment readiness, station and apparatus maintenance, physical training, and continuing education. A high school diploma or GED, minimum age of 18, a valid Georgia driver’s license, and obtaining NPQ Firefighter II and EMT-B certifications within 18 months are required; prior work experience is preferred. The role attends the fire academy and is safety-sensitive with random drug testing.
