Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, at least six months of full-time paid government Firefighter/Paramedic experience by October 18, 2026, a current California or National Registry Paramedic license, and a valid Class C California driver license. The role includes firefighting, emergency medical services, and possible fire prevention, training, arson investigation, communications, or hazardous materials assignments. Applicants must complete a 19-week firefighter academy, Orange County Paramedic Accreditation, a Biddle Physical Ability Test, a Paramedic Assessment Center, background and medical checks, and a pre-academy physical fitness assessment. Compensation is $9,060.70 per month during the academy and $10,515.40 per month after paramedic accreditation, with a potential $13,385.44 per month by July 21, 2029. Medical and vision coverage is $0 for employees without dependents, and optional dental insurance costs $6.00 per month.
