Description

Mind Robotics is hiring a Firmware Engineer to own embedded software for its industrial robots, including C/C++ or Rust firmware, real-time scheduling, communication protocols, microcontroller peripherals, sensor and actuator integration, motor control, hardware-software interface design, and firmware validation tooling. The role requires a technical degree or equivalent experience, embedded systems expertise, RTOS experience, knowledge of communication protocols and microcontroller peripherals, and the ability to debug hardware and software interactions.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
Required Previous Experiences: Experience building firmware for real physical systems such as robots, motors, or power electronics
Experience with RTOS environments, including task scheduling, priority management, and real-time guarantees
Experience with embedded communication protocols including CAN, EtherCAT, I2C, SPI, and UART
Experience configuring microcontroller peripherals and understanding their impact on system timing and performance
Experience integrating sensors and actuators at the firmware level
Experience debugging hardware and software interactions using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with safety-critical or deterministic real-time systems
Familiarity with field-oriented control or other motor control algorithms
Experience with Linux-based embedded systems and the RTOS-application boundary
Python scripting for test automation, data logging, or hardware validation
