Description
The Fitter assembles structural frameworks and housings from raw material and prepares and fabricates metal components for welding. Responsibilities include verifying workpieces, aligning and fitting parts, operating fabricating and material-handling equipment, assembling components, removing weld slag, reviewing kitted parts, and fabricating fixtures, jigs, and gauges. The role requires an associate or technical school education, at least one year of related experience or training, and may require a government security clearance. It is an indoor production environment with potential overtime, up to 10% travel, and physical demands including lifting up to 50 pounds and prolonged repetitive work.
