Description

The Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection Authority is hiring a fixed-term Research Engineer in Radiation Physics and Neutronics for its Remote Sensing Laboratory in Le Vésinet, France. The role models gamma spectrometer responses using Monte Carlo simulation tools such as MCNP, Geant4, Penelope, and Fluka, develops detector and measurement-system models, compares simulations with experimental data, and iteratively improves model quality. The 18-month contract requires a Bac+8 or Bac+5 qualification or an engineering degree in nuclear physics, particle physics, or radiation protection, proficiency with at least one Monte Carlo package, and preferably programming skills and initial nuclear-industry experience. Occasional travel within France may be required.
