Saab UK is hiring a Flight Control Systems Engineer for its Bluebear Business in Bedfordshire, reporting to the Head of Digital Systems Engineering. The role develops, maintains, tests, and deploys safety-critical software for unmanned aerial systems, including flight control laws, data manipulation algorithms, and mission systems. Responsibilities include requirements definition, MATLAB/Simulink software development, simulation verification and validation, deployment to target hardware, real-world flight testing, and presentation of findings. The position requires an aerospace engineering degree, knowledge of aerodynamics and flight mechanics, MATLAB/Simulink experience, control-systems design and commissioning experience, and SC clearance, with additional guidance, navigation, control, embedded systems, and software-development qualifications desirable.
